Mitchell Doerr
Assistant Coach: 2nd Season

Coach Mitch (Trempealeau, WI) has been a great deal of help in coordinating defense, off-season skill development, scouting & film, sleep, mindfulness and nutrition assistance, including where the V-Hawks eat on the road, and serves as the head strength & conditioning coach.

While coaching at Viterbo, Mitch has received his Master of Science in Leadership Education and Sport Management, and also coaches basketball and strength with the Wisconsin Playmakers' Adidas Circuit teams.

Preceding Viterbo, Mitch was the head strength & conditioning coach for 3 teams at Winona State University, while at the same time an assistant coach and head strength coach for the La Crosse Showtime (semi-professional). Foregoing those experiences, he was a strength & conditioning and eventual skill development intern for the Indiana Pacers.

While going through school and receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Sport Science with a Coaching Competitive Athletics concentration, Mitch coached youth AAU basketball as well as assisted with high school basketball, and still holds annual summer basketball strength & conditioning camps for youth through college age basketball players that he started as a freshman.


Jovahn Masters
Assistant Coach / Director of Basketball Operations: 1st Season

Jovahn Masters joins the Viterbo Women’s Basketball Staff as the Director of Basketball Operations for the 2019-20 campaign. He joins the staff after spending the 2018-2019 season serving as the Head Boys Varsity Reserve Coach at La Crosse Aquinas High School.

The Eau Claire, Wisconsin native will be in charge of all operations for the Women’s Basketball program. Masters primarily will be working with the offense, with an emphasis on the posts. In addition to coaching, his duties include overseeing all video, analytical and data systems for the program, managing travel plans as well as overseeing all budget requests, overseeing and coordinating on-campus recruiting visits, assisting in equipment management, coordinating practice times, as well as any other special projects assigned to the coaching staff.

Masters will graduate in the winter of 2019 from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse with a degree in Broadfield Social Studies Education and Sociology Education. He has worked at basketball camps for multiple universities including Marquette University under Steve Wojciechowski and Dayton University under coach Anthony Grant.
